The day before their showpiece final in Angola, the Confederation of African Football (Caf) have been indulging in some dark comedy of their own.

And while being equally as idiotic as Blackadder's Lieutenant George, they are also being distinctly unfunny.

In their defence, they are only following procedure. In the same way you might follow procedure once your foot had detonated a mine. That is, in a completely braindead manner.

Al-Jazeera (Eng) Africa Blog

It could be titled "Togo, More On CAF decision" which is funnier if you read it faster.

This is the darkest ...

… piece of comedic writing I have read in a long time. That this story/these stories were picked up by the world wide press has me questioning my original assumption: that Togo being suspending must be an impractical joke.

By the way

That wasn’t the al-Jazeera (eng) sports page, but their Africa blog. Said blog almost never talks sports.
